Training Centre

Introduction

The CCIEEC, in collaboration with Hangzhou Polytechnic and the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), offers specialised skills training for TVET College lecturers and industrial employees. These training programmes aim to equip educators and industry professionals with practical skills that improve their teaching effectiveness and operational efficiency.

Objective

To enhance technical skills development by providing industry-relevant, internationally accredited training programmes that empower TVET College lecturers and industrial employees. Through hands-on learning, expert instruction from Hangzhou Polytechnic engineers and lecturers, and continuous skills advancement, the Training Centre aims to bridge the gap between education and industry needs, promoting a highly skilled workforce for South Africa’s economic growth.

Programmes we Offer

Computer Numerical Controls (CNC)

This course introduces students to an advanced manufacturing process that uses computer programming to automate the control and movement of machine tools. Students will learn how CNC technology is applied to produce precise components from materials such as metal and plastic, using industry-relevant systems and techniques.

Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)

This course introduces students to the use of industrial digital computers designed to control manufacturing processes and machinery. Learners will explore how PLC technology is used to automate a wide range of functions across industries, gaining experience with commonly used systems and applications.

Robotic Welding

This course focuses on the use and operation of industrial robots, automated machines designed for manufacturing environments. These robots typically feature a programmable robotic arm (or manipulator) that operates on three or more axes, allowing them to perform complex tasks with speed and precision.

Internet of Things (IoT)

This course introduces students to the concept and application of the Internet of Things (IoT) in industrial and manufacturing settings. Learners will explore how connected devices, sensors, and data networks are used to monitor and optimise processes in real time. The course covers IoT fundamentals, system integration, and the role of smart technologies in improving efficiency and automation.
