The Chinese Culture Centre is established.

Local Chinese children are taught Chinese language and culture as an extra-mural activity on Saturdays, known as “Chinese School”.

CCIEEC becomes the South African overseas admissions office for Jinan University in Guangzhou.

The First Roots-Seeking Camp for takes place in December in Xiamen, Fujian for 20 South African local Chinese children.

Saturday Chinese School grows, and teachers arrive from China to assist in teaching to local Chinese.

CCIEEC lands first project agreement with Gauteng Department of Education and begins Mandarin training at public schools with Hanban teachers.  

The CCIEEC and Jiangsu Provincial Educational Department together co-found and establish the affiliated Confucious Classroom on 14th of July 2014. 

Hanban teachers of Confucious Classroom start teaching at South African public and private primary and high schools.

Chinese Classes commence for officials of the several South African Government Departments.

The CCIEEC and Jiangsu Provincial Educational Department officially launched the affiliated Confucious Classroom on 15th April 2015.

Chinese classes commence for the South African Chinese Enterprises and Trade Association of South Africa, teaching the children of Chinese expats.

First group of 120 TVET College and University students travel to China to participate in a 1 year study and internship programme in collaboration with MERSETA.

CCIEEC, together with the South African Minister of Basic Education, Mrs Angie Motshekga, and the South African Chinese Embassy, establishes the annual South African Chinese Language Day to take place on 17^th September. 

The ETDPSETA Bachelors degree Programme commences for 60 students unable to travel to China due to COVID restrictions and start online classes with Chinese Colleges.
